As you know, they road test a lot of cars. The car dealers are upset if they get the cars back with a bunch of rock chips in the fronts. Miles, ok, chips, not ok! C&D can't go and buy a new bra for every car they test, so... They buy shelf paper. Ordinary shelf paper. They put it on the fronts of the cars and take it off when they are done. Apparently shelf paper has a gentle adhesive (3M makes some I think) so it won't wreck the paint. If it were me, I would wax my car before trying this. With your new paint job, waxing is probably out of the question.
